Rules & Policies
General
ECO Transit strives for safety in all areas. We ask that everyone ride our buses responsibly, watching for their own well-being and that of others. Please be respectful of ECO property and ECO passengers. Please report all threatening or discourteous behavior to ECO staff immediately.

  • No passengers are permitted forward of the yellow standing line per federal law. Passengers who choose to stand do so at their own risk.
  • No flash photography or laser pointers
  • Items that may blind the bus operator are not permitted to be used on board or at bus stops.
  • All bus stops are by request.
  • The bus does not stop at unattended bus stops (stops with no guests waiting); guests on board the bus must use the stop request cord/bell to alert the bus operator to stop at the next bus stop. Please pull the cord/bell one block from the bus stop at which you wish to be dropped. At night, it is helpful if you open your cell phone so the light comes on and wave it back and forth so that the bus operator can better see that someone is waiting at the bus stop.
  • Please be on time. The times stated on the schedule are leave/departure times.
  • You are an essential part of ECO Transit’s on-time performance. If you are farther than five (5) feet away from the bus stop, we are unable to wait. Bus operators when on schedule and at their discretion may hold at a bus stop for an incomplete boarding party or connection.
  • All times on our posted schedule are subject to traffic, construction and weather conditions. If we are running behind due to conditions beyond our control, it is because we are, first and foremost, concerned about the safety of our guests. We apologize, but safety always comes first.
  • All items that are carried onto the bus by passengers must be under the control of that person and shall not obstruct the aisle or exits in any way. Items shall be no larger than an oversize suitcase; it must fit in the seat with the guest. When the capacity of the bus necessitates the need for that seat, objects that will not fit on the lap of a guest are not allowed.
  • Any articles with an offensive odor or prone to spilling shall be contained, or they shall not be permitted on board.
  • Bus operators may assist guests with the loading of items at their discretion.

All animals are prohibited from riding ECO Transit buses, subject to the following limited exceptions:

  • Any guest traveling with an animal may be expelled if the animal’s behavior compromises the safe operation of ECO Transit services or otherwise poses a threat to the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
