
Many of the properties managed by Eagle County Open Space are protected in perpetuity by voluntary land preservation agreements that restrict certain activities that might impact the character and quality of the property.
Special events must support or enhance the conservation values of Open Space properties and are defined as community events that require a larger amount of oversight from Eagle County Open Space staff for which a fee may be charged. Special Events are events that exceed 25 participants. Eagle County Open Space requires event proposals to be submitted at least 60 days prior to the date of the event.
Please follow the following steps to obtain a permit for a Special Event:
- At least 60 days prior to the desired event date, reach out to the Open Space Planning Specialist (kate.oetheimer@eaglecounty.us) to discuss general event plans and to ensure the proposed event is in line with Eagle County OSNR's mission and conservation values.
- If staff agrees the event is in line with OSNR's mission and conservation values, complete the request form to request a special event permit and submit the special event permit application fee. Fees can be paid online or by mailing a check to:

The fee structure for special event permit application fees is as follows:
26-100 participants - $100.00
101-250 participants - $150.00
250+ participants - $200.00
