To qualify to register to vote, you must:
  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Be 16 years old to pre-register to vote
  • Be 18 years old by election day in order to vote in an election
  • Be a resident of Colorado at least 22 days prior to an election in order to vote in an election
  • Consider Eagle County your sole legal place of residence for voting purposes, motor vehicle registration, and income tax purposes
  • Not claim the right to vote in any other state
  • Must not be serving a sentence of confinement or detention for a felony conviction (Note: Those on probation or parole are eligible to vote)

Voter Registration FAQs

Correct addresses are important!
In your voter registration:

  • Your residential (home) address determines the issues and candidates on which you are eligible to vote. 
  • Your mailing address is where your ballot will be mailed.  
By law, ballots are not forwardable by the US Postal Service.
