Update to interest policy per Governor's Executive Order

Update - June 18, 2020

Eagle County Treasurer
Late Payment / Delinquent Interest Policy
June 16 - September 30, 2020

Contact: Teak Simonton, Eagle County Treasurer and Public Trustee,

June 18, 2020 - Colorado House Bill 20-1421 allows us to waive or suspend the accrual of interest for late property tax payments between June 16 and September 30, 2020.  I have recommended to our Board of County Commissioners that Eagle County adopt this approach to help taxpayers who are having difficulty paying this year due to COVID 19 and other economic difficulties.  The Board is in agreement with this approach.

Taxpayers who have not made their full tax payments, which were due on April 30th will be charged late interest for May and June, but there will be no new charges or accruals from June 16 through September 30 of this year.  Taxpayers who have made first half payments and have not yet made the second half payments, will not have interest accrued or charged on payments made between June 16 and September 30 of this year.  Should tax accounts remain unpaid in full as of October 1, interest will begin accruing again at a rate of 1% per month, by law.

To pay online using an e-check or credit card, go to You can also mail your check to the Eagle County Treasurer, P. O. Box 479, Eagle, CO 81631 or drop your payment into the 24-hour drop boxes located in Avon at the Avon Center building, in Edwards at the Field House, in Eagle at the County Building on Broadway or in El Jebel at the county building next to Crown Mountain Park.
