Smoke in the Eagle River Valley is coming in from fires to the west. For more information, visit

If smoke is thick or becomes thick in your neighborhood you may want to remain indoors. This is especially true for those with heart disease, respiratory illnesses, the very young, and the elderly.

County seeks community feedback on improving access to ECO Transit bus stops

Contact: Chris Lubbers, Director, Transit and Fleet Services, 970-328-3533,

Nov. 7, 2018 – ECO Transit is conducting a first/last mile strategy study to improve access to existing ECO bus stops. Residents are invited to attend a community open house and input meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14 in the Garden Level Classroom at the Eagle County Building, located at 500 Broadway in Eagle. No RSVP is required to attend and pizza will be provided.

First/last mile refers to the distance traveled to and from the bus stop as part of a bus trip or commute. Topics to be discussed at the Nov. 14 meeting include opportunities for bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, ride hailing and bike share options that would make it easier to travel by bus.

For those unable to attend the meeting, feedback may be emailed to ECO Transit Director Chris Lubbers at
