Eagle-Vail Trail Construction Update, July 3, 2012

Contact:  Ellie Caryl, ECO Trails Manager, at or 970-328-3523

Work continues the Eagle Vail Trail construction between Stone Creek Road and the I-70 Eagle Vail exit on the north side of Highway 6. Due to the Independence Day holiday, no work will occur on July 4. The outside westbound lane and shoulder of Highway will continue to be closed during the length of the construction.
Motorists and cyclists are requested to observe the work zone closures for their safety and share the travel lane through the approximately 3,000 foot long work zone. Motorists are urged to drive Slow for the Cone Zone!

In an effort to decrease congestion in the work zone, ECO Transit will suspend pickup of passengers at the Eagle Road westbound shelter. The suspension of service will begin on Thursday, July 5. Passengers are asked to utilize the Stone Creek Road stop, approximately 2,000 feet west of the Eagle Road stop.

The Eagle Vail Trail project is part of the tax-funded cooperative effort by valley governments to provide cycling and pedestrian facilities to connect all of the communities in the Eagle and Gore Creek valleys. Please contact for additional information or questions.
