The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office has recently and continues to recover a large number of bicycles believed to be stolen from the Edwards area.  Deputies believe that there has been a recent rash of bicycle thefts and that many of the thefts have gone unreported.

The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office would like to return all of the recovered bicycles to their rightful owners. We are asking anyone who believes their bicycle has been lost or stolen to call the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office and make a report. We will investigate the possible crime and look to see if we have already recovered your bicycle.

“Eagle County residents have the right to speak to a deputy and make a report if any crime is committed against them, regardless of their immigration status,” said Sheriff Joe Hoy.  “We always have and will continue to investigate every crime reported to us to the fullest extent.  It is our duty to serve and protect everyone in Eagle County.”

If you think you may have any information about the recent bicycle thefts or any other crime, please call the Eagle County Sheriff's Office at (970) 328-8500 or Eagle County Crime Stoppers at 970-328-7007, 1-800-972-TIPS, submit your tip online at www.tipsubmit.com, or text a tip from your cell phone by texting STOPCRIME plus your message to CRIMES (274637).  If your tip leads to the arrest and indictment of any suspect involved, you could earn up to a $1,000 reward from the Crime Stoppers.
