August 19, 2014 - Today Avon Police Officers and Eagle County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Edwards Resident John Benjamin Hernreich, age 25, for a string of graffiti taggings that occurred over the last year in Eagle County.

The service of a search and arrest warrant at the suspects Edwards residence resulted in Mr. Hernreich being booked into the Eagle County Detention Facility for 39 counts of second degree criminal tampering and one count of felony criminal mischief. Mr. Hernreich is suspected of painting graffiti and tagging the moniker “Sparo” on public properties from Vail to Camp Hale and up and down the I-70 corridor.

“The Vail Valley is a magnificent place and the vandalism that has occurred at the hands of this graffiti tagger certainly displayed a poor visual image for our community and cost the public tens of thousands of dollars in clean-up.
