The body of an Aspen area man in his 40’s was recovered from the Eagle River shortly before noon on June 5, 2010.

The man was rafting with two friends, when the private raft pitched and overturned in Dowd Junction.  The two friends were able to self rescue and called 911 for help.  The man was an experienced rafter and was wearing a Personal Floatation Device.

The men were not affiliated with the Teva Mountain Games or a private rafting company.  The name of the deceased party will be released by the Eagle County Coroner after next of kin notifications are made.
