Eagle County Sheriff to Share Shop with a Cop Event

Contact: Community Affairs Officer, 970-328-8512

Amber Barrett,

Deputy Megan Heil,

Lisa Vasquez,

Nov. 11, 2016 – The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office will be creating a new tradition for the 2016 holiday season as we plan to share a “Shop with a Cop” experience with children in need.

On Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 4 – 8 p.m., the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office team and other emergency response agencies will donate our hearts and time to meet with children chosen from local schools to shop for gifts for their families.  Each child will be given $100 and paired with a first responder who will help them shop for holiday gifts and spend the evening at the 4 Eagle Ranch where they will eat dinner, wrap presents and visit with Santa.  Each child’s family will also be provided with a holiday meal basket to go along with their new gifts.

The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office and our partners are excited to host this event and help bring the joy of the holidays to many local families with gifts, wrapping, food and fun.

If you and your family can help bring the joy of giving to local families in need, please consider a monetary cash donation, wrapping paper, tape, bows or your time.  A one hundred dollar donation can help to sponsor one child’s dream and we are hoping to sponsor at least 3 children per school in all our unincorporated Eagle County Sheriff’s Office areas.

For donations and information please contact Deputy Megan Heil, Deputy Lisa Vasquez or Amber Barrett.
