Cocaine Deal Made in Front of Two Undercover Cops

On September 7, 2010 the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office arrested Oscar Torres-Mora, age 38 of Basalt and Jesus Cruz-Mata, age 25, of Aspen.  They are both being charged with felony Possession and Distribution of Cocaine.  The men are being held in the Eagle County Detention Facility with $50,000 bonds and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) holds for being illegally in the US from Mexico. cocaine arrest basalt

Two undercover detectives were conducting a follow-up investigation in the Basalt Area of Eagle County.  While parked in the parking lot of El Nopal, located at 23050 Two Rivers Rd. Detectives observed a cocaine transaction between Torres-Mora and Cruz-Mata.  Detectives recovered 15 grams of cocaine with a street value of approximately $700.00.
