County welcomes new Public Health & Environment Director

Contact: Aric Otzelberger, Deputy County Manager, 970-328-8858,

May 12, 2017 – Eagle County has hired a new director of Public Health & Environment. Chris Lindley joined the organization on May 1.

Lindley’s extensive career has spanned from his military service as an Army Environmental Science Officer, to serving as firefighter with the City and County of Denver, to launching his own business as founder and CEO of two health and fitness brands with multiple locations.

His experience also includes 10 years at the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, where he served as the program manager of Epidemiology, Surveillance and Communication; followed by division director of Emergency Preparedness and Response; and finally division director of Prevention Services.

Lindley holds a master’s degree in Public Health from Emory University and an MBA from Washington University.

“We are so fortunate to have Chris join our team,” said Deputy County Manager Aric Otzelberger. “His background, energy and passion will be a terrific addition to the county and the community.”

Lindley assumes the role following the departure of former director Jennifer Ludwig, who left the county in February to accept the position of deputy director at Tri-County Health. The agency serves Adams, Arapahoe and Douglas counties on the Front Range.
