Communicable Diseases

The Eagle County Communicable Disease Program focuses on preventing and controlling the spread of communicable diseases by:

  • Monitoring diseases
  • Investigating diseases
  • Identifying risks that cause disease
  • Coordinating prevention strategies
  • Consulting with health care providers

The tuberculosis program works in coordination with the state tuberculosis program to provide treatment and control activities according to current standards and Colorado laws, rules and regulations. These activities include management of latent and active tuberculosis, outreach activities and contact investigations and isolation in compliance with Colorado statutes.
