Eagle River Meadows public hearings scheduled

Contact: Scot Hunn, Planner, 970-328-8624

Note: The May 25 meeting on Eagle River Meadows is available for viewing online.

The Eagle County Board of Commissioners will continue a multi-part hearing process to review the sketch plan application for the Eagle River Meadows Planned Unit Development (PUD) proposal. The second meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8 in the Battle Mountain High School auditorium in Edwards.

The proposed development is located on the former B&B gravel mine site, just west of the Eagle River Preserve in Edwards. The 105-acre development proposal includes 380 free market and deed restricted housing units, approximately 261,000 square feet of medical, wellness, office and related commercial uses. In addition, the proposal includes preservation of 68 acres of open space, the provision of new public trails and public fishing access.

Sketch plan review is the first of a three part review and approval process for development proposals like the Eagle River Meadows PUD. The sketch plan application has been in the review process with the Eagle County Planning Commission since January 2010. The commission completed their review of the file on April 21 and forwarded a unanimous recommendation for approval, with conditions, to the Eagle County Board of Commissioners. If the sketch plan is ultimately approved, the applicant will have two years in which to apply for and obtain a preliminary plan approval.

The application may be viewed on the Active Land Use Files page or by contacting
