Eagle County seeks public input on Edwards Area Community Plan

Contact: Cliff Simonton, Senior Planner, 970-328-8751, clifford.simonton@eaglecounty.us

Oct. 5, 2016 - The Edwards Area Community Plan, a sub-area master plan proposed for lands in and around the unincorporated community of Edwards, is now available for public review and comment until Oct. 21. The plan can be accessed at www.eaglecounty.us/planning/master_planning_projects/edwards_area_community_plan

The proposed community plan, which took three years to develop, includes background information and descriptions of the area along with maps, photos, policies, strategies and topic-specific goals. Over 800 residents and business owners participated in the process of developing the plan.

Master plans are guiding documents adopted by the planning commissions in Eagle County. They are not regulatory; rather, they are intended to be used by developers, resource managers, land use decision makers and other interested parties engaged in planning, design or development to reflect both sound planning principles and community values and desires.

Comments on the Edwards Area Community Plan can be sent to Cliff Simonton at clifford.simonton@eaglecounty.us, or by mail to Cliff Simonton, Eagle County Community Development, P.O. Box 179 Eagle, CO 81631. Input will be accepted until Oct. 21 and will be forwarded to the Eagle County Planning Commission for consideration during upcoming public adoption hearings, tentatively scheduled to begin in November. Information on planning commission agendas is available at www.eaglecounty.us/planning
