As part of the Eagle-Vail Business District master planning process, Eagle County is conducting a survey to gather public input on the desired future for the area. The survey will be open until noon on Nov. 19 and can be accessed at

The study area covers approximately 84 acres along U.S. Hwy 6. The purpose of the master planning process is to establish long-term design and regulatory goals to direct and coordinate future redevelopment and growth within the commercial area, which dates to the early 1970s.

The survey was developed based on written comments received at an open house held in September. According to Eagle County Planner Scot Hunn, the survey, along with research and public input previously gathered, will be used during an upcoming charrette with team members from Mauriello Planning Group and OZ Architecture. “The information and input we’re gathering will provide critical direction for us as we form vision statements, policies and goals for the Eagle-Vail Business District Master Plan,” said Hunn.

The charrette date will be announced within the next few weeks. Following the event, a draft master plan document will be created and the formal public review process will begin with the Eagle County Planning Commission. For more information, contact Hunn at 970-328-8624.
