Eagle County Health & Human Services is pleased to announce that the Vail Valley Partnership (VVP) will manage and expand the Eagle County Volunteer Center effective Dec. 1. The Eagle County Volunteer Center has teamed up with community based organizations and volunteers for over 10 years. The Eagle County Volunteer Center is separate from the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), which will continue to be managed by Eagle County.

“We are thankful that the VVP is committed to ensuring our community fosters and thrives on volunteerism. Volunteers serve a pivotal role in filling the overwhelming service demands of our local organizations,” said Rachel Oys, Director of Health and Human Services.

The VVP plans to utilize the latest technology and social media outlets to create an online community connected via volunteerism. Their website will include a large number of resources and links for volunteers looking for organizations that need volunteer assistance. Become a “friend” of VVP on Facebook and volunteer within Eagle County.

The Volunteer Connection will be a part of the VVP’s Non-Profit Network (NPN), which was established in November 2004 as a comprehensive resource for Vail Valley non-profit organizations, providing tools to sustain and grow their operations. The VVP’s Non-Profit Network strives to strengthen the connection between business and non-profit partners through education, networking and community awareness.

“The Volunteer Connection is a natural extension of the Partnership’s community role of helping local businesses and non-profits to do business here in Eagle County,” said Chris Romer, Executive Director of the Vail Valley Partnership. “We hope to continue to help Eagle County’s non-profits connect with community and corporate volunteers and to serve as a centralized location for non-profit resources and volunteer engagement.”
