Smoke in the Eagle River Valley

Smoke in the Eagle River Valley is coming in from fires to the west.

If smoke is thick or becomes thick in your neighborhood you may want to remain indoors. This is especially true for those with heart disease, respiratory illnesses, the very young, and the elderly.

County to celebrate Two10 @ Castle Peak with virtual grand opening

Contact: Kim Bell Williams, 970-328-8773, kim.williams@eaglecounty.us

July 27, 2020 - Eagle County will celebrate the grand opening of the Two10 @ Castle Peak housing project with a virtual ceremony tomorrow. The event will take place at 3 p.m. on July 28 at www.ecgtv.com/live.

Two10 @ Castle Peak is a 22-unit apartment building located in Eagle Ranch just north of Brush Creek Elementary. The project includes 15 1-bedroom plus den units, five 1-bedroom units and two 2-bedroom units. Each unit has dedicated storage space. Rents will be affordable to households earning 80% of the area median income (AMI), and all tenants will be required to live and work in Eagle County.

The building is pursuing a LEED Gold certification. Two10 has a 46 kW solar array on the roof, a highly efficient thermal envelope, LED lighting and highly efficient heating and cooling systems, providing a high level of comfort for residents along with lower utility bills. In addition, 70% of all construction waste generated by the project was recycled.

The project team consisted of JV DeSousa Architecture and Design and FCI Constructors. Once final numbers are calculated, construction costs are anticipated to come in below the approximate $9.7 million budget.

Eagle County Schools will master lease five units for local teachers. Applications for additional units are currently being accepted at www.eaglecounty.us/two10housing.

The Eagle County Housing and Development Authority will provide property management services in partnership with Eagle County. For more information, contact Matt Andrews at 970-328-8897.
