Aug. 21, 2015 – Eagle County has hired a new ECO Transit & Trails director. Chris Lubbers will join the organization on Aug. 31.

Lubbers has extensive experience in public transportation and infrastructure management, specifically in mountain communities. Most recently, he served as the transportation manager for the Beaver Creek Resort Company, Bachelor Gulch Village Association, and Arrowhead Metro District. In that role, he achieved record guest satisfaction scores and an industry-leading safety record.

"Chris brings a passion for public transit, quality customer service and employee engagement that will serve ECO and the greater community well.  We are very excited to have Chris join the team," said Deputy County Manager Aric Otzelberger.

As co-chair of the Eagle County Regional Transportation Authority Advisory Board, Lubbers has worked closely with ECO Transit staff and community partners. He also serves as operational lead for the Vail Resorts Heavy Transit Safety Best Practices Group, and is a member of the Colorado Association of Transit Agencies and the Colorado Intermountain Transit Planning Working Group. He holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Colorado Technical University, and is acquiring a master’s degree in business administration from Western Governors University.

In his new role, Lubbers will oversee operations and development for both ECO Transit and ECO Trails.
