Aug. 15, 2017 – Energy Smart Colorado, along with Eagle County Environmental Health, is hosting two live webinars to assist real estate professionals, home builders, architects and consumers in understanding how radon can most cost effectively be addressed.

Incorporating Radon in New Home Construction
Aug. 22, 1 - 3 p.m.
500 Broadway in Eagle (Emergency Operations Center, Garden Level of Eagle County building)

This two-hour program will detail common approaches that can be built in during construction. This course will focus on approaches that are specifically relevant to construction practices.

Radon and the Real Estate Professional
Sept. 12, 9 - 11 a.m.
500 Broadway in Eagle (Garden Level Classroom of Eagle County building)

This two-hour webinar will detail how radon is best tested for at the time of sale and some strategies for how it can be addressed without delaying the sale.  Attendees will receive two hours of continuing education credits.

According to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, who is also sponsoring the webinars, approximately 50 percent of Colorado homes have indoor radon exposures higher than what is recommended.  This is particularly true for homes in the central mountain areas and consequently radon testing at the time of sale or the desire for radon control systems to be incorporated in new homes is becoming increasingly common.
