Smoke in the air

Contact: Barry Smith, Emergency Management, 970-328-3545

Smoke visible in the air in and around Eagle County is drifting from wildfires in various western states. Emergency Management reminds citizens to limit outdoor physical activity when air quality is compromised, especially the elderly, children, and persons with respiratory problems.

Smoke can be expected to continue to settle into low-lying valleys overnight and early morning. For information on current wildfires, please see http://www.inciweb.org/.
