Local Emergency Planning Committee openings available

Jan. 7, 2016 - Eagle County is seeking community members to serve on the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC). The LEPC serves as a resource for enhancing hazardous materials preparedness and is designed to provide expertise on planning and outreach capability for hazardous materials storage, transportation and response. 

By law, the LEPC membership must represent a cross section of the jurisdiction it serves. Members are appointed by the Eagle County Commissioners and will be approved by the Colorado Emergency Planning Commission.

Applicants are being sought from the following disciplines: state or local elected officials, law enforcement, firefighting, emergency management, health, hospital, broadcast/print media, transportation, emergency medical service, local environmental group, community service/civic group, facility owners/operators regulated by SARA Title III and members of the general public.
