County conducting pre-disaster mitigation survey

Contact: Barry Smith, Emergency Management Director, 970-328-3545 or barry.smith@eaglecounty.us

Eagle County is in the process of updating its Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan as required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The plan requires the county to seek input from the community on the types of hazards that are of most concern to residents. A short online survey will be available at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FBT9QMF until Aug. 30. All interested stakeholders are encouraged to participate.

Survey results will be incorporated into the planning process. A draft plan for public review and comment will be posted on the Eagle County website at www.eaglecounty.us, as well as on the websites of partnering towns and special districts, beginning Sept. 1. For more information, contact Eagle County Emergency Management Director Barry Smith at 970-328-3545.
