Eagle County celebrates August as Child Support Enforcement Month

Contact: Kristie Williamson Economic Services Manager at 970-328-8851 or

Eagle County joins the Colorado Department of Human Services Division of Child Support Enforcement (CSE) in celebrating August as Child Support Enforcement Month. Child Support Enforcement Month honors the hundreds of child support professionals across the state who are committed to making a difference in the lives of children and acknowledges parents who support their children emotionally, financially and medically.

“Eagle County’s team of child support professionals is committed to helping the children of our community,” said Kristie Williamson, economic services manager for Eagle County. “In 2012, three Eagle County child support professionals collected $1,954,709 in child support payments, an increase of 8 percent over 2011.”

Eagle County’s child support team provides services for families by establishing paternity, collecting monies from non-custodial parents and confirming that children are medically insured according to court orders. These activities support the department’s vision that all children can depend upon their parents for the financial, medical and emotional support needed to be healthy and successful.

The Eagle County Board of County Commissioners will read a resolution proclaiming August 2013 as Child Support Enforcement Month during their regular meeting on Aug. 27.
