April 6 - 12   National Public Health Week
Do you know what Public Health does for our community? There is much to learn about this department and the services they provide.
From education and outreach to offering immunizations, Eagle County Public Health is an integral part of our community.

April 8 Child Abuse Prevention Month Planting Pinwheels for Prevention 
Presented by Eagle County Child, Family & Adult Services from noon to 1 p.m. in the Eagle County Building Courtyard.
April 9 Stand up for Transportation Day
A national transportation infrastructure day that highlights the critical need to invest in updating our nation’s transportation infrastructure. 
April 19 - 25 National Crime Victims Rights Week
Eagle County Sheriff's Office will be promoting victims’ rights and honoring crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf.
April 21  Earth Day Poster Contest Winners Announced
Each year, the Environmental Health Department sponsors an Earth Day Poster Contest for all Eagle County fourth graders.
An awards ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. at the Eagle County Building. 
 April 22 Duck Pond Open Space Grand Opening Celebration
Presented by Eagle County Open Space at 3 p.m. at Duck Pond Open Space in Dotsero.
 April 25 Community Pride Highway Cleanup
Join the Eagle River Water Shed Council from 9 a.m. to noon to help clean up our community and enjoy a volunteer barbeque.
 April 28  Small Steps to Health & Wealth workshop
 Presented by CSU Extension at 6 p.m. at Avon Public Library.
April 29  Month of the Young Child Parade and Celebration         
A parade of children and early childhood professionals will start at 2nd and Broadway
and end the Eagle County Building courtyard.

ECO Transit to offer discounted daily ride passes during Environmental Health Week, April 20 - 24
In keeping with the theme, Eagle County is encouraging all residents to “Try Transit” in April by taking a ride on an ECO Transit bus.
In support of Environmental Health Week and Eagle County’s Actively Green 15 x ‘15 policy, ECO Transit will offer 15 percent off day passes from April 20 - 24.
Eligible passes are available for purchase at the Maintenance Service Center in Gypsum or the Vail Transportation Center in Vail.
