Contact: Commissioner Jeanne McQueeney, 970-328-8625,

Aug. 10, 2016 – Eagle County Commissioner Jeanne McQueeney has been appointed to the Early Childhood Leadership Commission (ECLC), Colorado’s early childhood advisory council. The governor-appointed commission is charged with increasing the coordination of programs and services for expectant mothers and young children up to age eight across the state.

“The role of the ECLC is to be a champion of best and promising practices in early childhood programs throughout Colorado,” said McQueeney. “I am honored to be part of the state’s effort to build a comprehensive, integrated early childhood support system.”

The ECLC is co-chaired by Lt. Gov. Donna Lynne; Anna Jo Haynes, CEO/President Emeritus of Mile High Montessori Early Learning Centers; and Barbara Grogan, retired founder and CEO of Western Industrial Contractors.

McQueeney joins her fellow Eagle County commissioners in serving on statewide boards. Commissioner Kathy Chandler-Henry is the Colorado Counties, Inc. representative to the governing body of FirstNet Colorado, which is charged with guiding efforts to create a statewide public safety broadband wireless network. Commissioner Jill Ryan is a governor appointee and past vice president of the Colorado State Board of Health.
