2020 State and Local Primary Election

  • Election Day: Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
  • Ballots will be mailed June 8, 2020, to all active eligible registered voters.
  • This election will be for federal (except President), state and local candidates.

Important Dates

  • June 1: Last day to change or withdraw affiliation
  • June 8: 22-day Colorado residency deadline
  • June 8: Ballots begin mailing to active voters
  • June 8: 24-hour ballot boxes open throughout the county
  • June 22: Eagle, Avon, and El Jebel Voter Service and Polling Centers open
  • June 22: Last day to update your registration to receive a ballot by mail
  • June 22: Last day to return your ballot by mail. After this day, return only to 24-hour ballot boxes
  • June 27: Vail Voter Service and Polling Center open
  • June 30: Last day to vote
    • Ballots must be received by 7 p.m.

2020 General Election

  • Election Day: Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020
  • Ballots will be mailed the week of Oct. 12, 2020, to all active registered voters.
  • This election will be for federal (including President/Vice President), state and local candidates as well as state and local ballot questions and issues.
  • More detailed information will be available on our website in August 2020.

Make sure the Clerk and Recorder has your correct addresses.  Check your voter registration record by visiting, by texting “CO2VOTE” to 28683 from your smartphone, or by calling 970-328-8715.

You can also add a specific “ballot mailing address” to your voter registration if you will be away from home when ballots are mailed. Please note by law ballots cannot be forwarded by the U.S. Postal Service.
