For your safety and our team's safety, Eagle County Clerk and Recorder's offices are closed to in-person interactions until June 1, 2020, when these precautions will be reevaluated.  Please feel free to visit mydmv.colorado.gov where most motor vehicle transactions can be done online.  You can also feel free to call us at 970-328-8729 and we will be happy to assist you over the phone.

Eagle County Clerk & Recorder’s Office is an agent of the Colorado Department of Revenue for motor vehicle titling and registration services. Motor Vehicle Services is also responsible for the collection of taxes and fees as set by Colorado legislation. Motor vehicle registration must be completed within 60 days after the purchase of a vehicle. If you have just moved to Eagle County from another state, you must register and plate your vehicle in one of our offices within 90 days of establishing residency. If you have moved to Eagle County from a different Colorado County and are already registered in Colorado you can update your residential and mailing addresses by visiting or contacting one of our offices.

Driver's licenses and identification cards are handled by the State of Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles. The closest Division of Motor Vehicles offices to Eagle County are Frisco, Glenwood Springs and Leadville.

  • semi–tractor trailer
  • special mobile machinery
  • manufactured homes
The Eagle County Clerk & Recorder’s Office is also responsible for the following:

  • temporary registration permits

  • disabled parking placards
  • recording of vehicle loans

A non-refundable fee is added to your total when paying with any type of credit or debit card.  This fee covers the cost of funds to develop, maintain, and enhance the State's official web portal, Colorado.gov.  For purchases under $10.00 a fee is not charged.  There are no additional fees for cash or check transactions
