Free lunch and learn on home solar installation

Contact: Jeff Pieper, Horticulture / Small Acreage Management, 970-328-8633, jeff.pieper@eaglecounty.us

June 22, 2017 – Eagle County’s CSU Extension Office will be hosting a free "lunch and learn" on home solar installation from noon to 1 p.m. on June 27. The class will take place in the Garden Level Classroom of the Eagle County Building, located at 500 Broadway in Eagle.  A light lunch will be provided.

Energy specialist Cary Weiner from Colorado State University will be speaking about solar options for the home, as well as providing information about free tools that all residents can use for evaluating costs and benefits.
Installing rooftop solar panels for the home cuts the cost of monthly electric bills while producing clean energy. An average sized rooftop system eliminates four metric tons of climate pollution from entering the atmosphere, which amounts to the same positive impact as taking one car off the road for a year.

Energy Smart Colorado staff will also be on hand to share information on low-cost energy assessments for homes, rebates for efficiency and solar improvements, and financing options through the program.
