Colorado State University (CSU) Extension will offer two summer Native Plant Master Program courses in Eagle and Summit counties. The first session will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on July 6, 13 and 20 at Sylvan Lake State Park. Session two will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on July 27, Aug. 3 and Aug. 10 at Shrine Mountain Road on Vail Pass.

Participants in the Native Plant Master courses will learn identification, ecology and uses of selected Colorado plants, emphasizing sustainable landscaping and identification of invasive weeds. Students will also learn how to use a botanical key that includes scientific names and families of plants.

Classes are open to anyone over the age of 21 while space is available. All sessions will take place outdoors. Course fees are $95 per course. Courses are offered at a reduced price of $60 per course for participants who agree to educate at least 20 people per year about Colorado plants.
