Smoke in the Eagle River Valley

Smoke in the Eagle River Valley is coming in from fires to the west.

If smoke is thick or becomes thick in your neighborhood you may want to remain indoors. This is especially true for those with heart disease, respiratory illnesses, the very young, and the elderly.

Annual 4-H Fashion Revue to be held July 15

Contact: Glenda Wentworth County Extension Director at 970-328-8630 or

July 9, 2014 – CSU Extension is inviting community members to attend the annual 4-H Fashion Revue at 7 p.m. July 15 at the Brush Creek Pavilion in Eagle. Local 4-H members worked hard during the year to create garments for their 4-H sewing project and the fashion revue allows sewing club members to show off their accomplishments by modeling their finished projects.

CSU Extension Director Glenda Wentworth says the 4-H Fashion Revue encourages 4-H youth to develop leadership abilities and helps build character, self-confidence, grace and poise. 4-H members also write a commentary describing the details of their garment, which is presented to the audience while the outfits are being modeled.

Following the revue, garments will be on display at the Eagle River Center during the 75th anniversary of the Eagle County Fair & Rodeo, taking place July 23 - 26. Attendees are encouraged to come by the Eagle River Center and take a look at the quality work completed by Eagle County 4-H participants.
