2020 Colorado Master Gardener Program and Colorado Gardener Certificate Training will be offered in Eagle, Colorado.

Enroll for the 2020 Master Gardener Training now!

The Colorado Master Gardener Program offered by CSU Extension allows local gardening enthusiasts to learn more about gardening practices in the Rocky Mountains. The 10-week course includes a combination of lectures, small group discussions and hands-on activities. The curriculum consists of 60 hours of classroom instruction and is held once a week on Fridays starting January 17 and ending March 27.

There are two program options available:

Option 1: Colorado Master Gardener Volunteer Application

The Colorado Master Gardener (CMG) volunteer is required to complete 50 volunteer hours their apprentice year (year training was attended) and 24 volunteer hours and 12 continuing education hours in subsequent years. Colorado Master Gardener volunteer activities vary from season to season but can include, writing articles, teaching classes, or helping with horticulture questions at the Extension office. All volunteer hours need to be completed by the end of October. The program cost $170 in 2019. Limited income income scholarships may be available for a reduce program cost of $85. Apply for this option by either (1) completing the application online by visiting the 'Become a Master Gardener' tab at the Colorado Master Gardener website and clicking on the green 'Online Application' button under Step 3, or (2) downloading the application from the link above and mailing or dropping off completed applications to the CSU Extension office in Eagle or emailing it to denyse.schrenker@eaglecounty.us.

Option 2: Colorado Gardener Certificate Application

The non-volunteer Colorado Gardener Certificate (CGC) option is used widely by Green Industry professionals. Other participants that do not wish to volunteer will find the certificate option a good fit. The program cost is $530. Space is limited to 20 participants. Apply for this option by either (1) completing the application online by visiting 'Auditing the Colorado Master Gardener training' or (2) downloading the application from the link above and mailing or dropping off completed applications to the CSU Extension office in Eagle or emailing it to denyse.schrenker@eaglecounty.us.
