Animal Services Announcements for June and July

Contact: Eagle County Animal Services, 970-328-DOGS

June is Adopt-A-Shelter Cat month.
In conjunction with American Humane, Eagle County Animal Services is offering a $50 adoption fee for all adult cats for the month of June. We have several friendly, sweet cats available. Please come and visit us at the shelter at 1400 Fairgrounds Road in Eagle or call us at 328-DOGS.

4th of July Hours
The animal shelter will be closed from Saturday, July 3, 2010 through Monday, July 5, 2010 for the 4th of July holiday. If you have an emergency, you may get in touch with one of our officers by calling the shelter at 328-DOGS to reach our answering service.

We would like to remind everyone to secure your dogs during this holiday season. The fireworks and celebrations have a tendency to frighten the dogs and they run off. Even if your dog normally stays close to home when not secured, the fireworks can startle them and cause them to bolt. Be sure to obey the posted leash laws and to leash your dogs when you are in a highly populated area during a celebration. Even friendly dogs can become stressed in crowds and around strangers. If you do have a dog go missing, please call the shelter and leave a description, phone number, and address on the answering machine so that as officers check messages, they can let you know whether or not your animal has been picked up and is safe.
