EGE master planning process underway; community input sought

Chris Anderson, Airport Terminal Manager, 970-328-2649 or

The Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) has kicked off a master planning process intended to outline the needs of current and future users of the airport for the next two decades. Ninety-five percent of the $526,000 planning project is being funded through a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The county has partnered with Jviation, an airport planning firm based in Denver, to facilitate the approximately 18-month process.

According to EGE Terminal Manager Chris Anderson, the 20-year master plan will ensure that development at EGE is consistent with the goals of the county and the community. It will determine what facilities are needed, when they will be needed and how much they will cost. “Outreach to airport users, tenants, carriers, neighbors, business owners, neighboring jurisdictions and the general public will occur throughout the project,” said Anderson.

As part of the input collection process, a Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) comprised of local citizens is being formed to provide recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners and staff. Those interested in serving on the PAC are encouraged to send letters of interest no later than March 15 via e-mail to; or via fax to 970-328-2687, or via U.S. Mail to:
