EGE full-scale exercise to take place Oct. 18

Contact: Andy Solsvig, Airport Operations Manager, 970-328-2649,

Oct. 16, 2017 – Emergency response agencies from across the valley will participate in a full-scale exercise at the Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) from 8 a.m. to noon on Oct. 18.

The exercise is intended to test and evaluate emergency response times, incident command structure and communications, the airport’s Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting capabilities and mutual-aid support from other agencies. The airport is required to test its Airport Emergency Plan through a full-scale disaster drill every three years to meet Federal Aviation Administration requirements.

Public notification will also be tested, with messages shared at, at www.facebook/EagleCountyPIO and at www.twitter/EagleCountyPIO.

Over 20 local emergency response organizations from throughout the area are expected to participate in the exercise. For more information, contact Andy Solsvig, airport operations manager, at 970-328-2649.
