Oct. 8, 2020 - The Center for Digital Government (CDG) has announced the winners of the fourth annual Government Experience Awards, and Eagle County is the recipient of a special award for its response to COVID-19. The program recognizes the achievements and best practices of states, cities and counties that are radically improving the experience of government and pushing the boundaries of how resident services are delivered.

Eagle County was recognized for its use of an online data dashboard, symptom tracker and chatbot. The COVID-19 Response Special Awards were given to state, local and federal government agencies and departments whose methods of response and assistance to employees and residents in coping with the pandemic were innovative and effective.

“We couldn’t be prouder of our team at Eagle County and the collective effort across the organization to respond to COVID-19,” said Deputy County Manager Angelo Fernandez. “However, this particular recognition is directly tied to the leadership and creativity of the county’s Innovation & Strategy Manager, Brandon Williams. He found ways to encourage all offices and departments to leverage IT services and innovative tools in every aspect of our response to the pandemic.”

“Our state and local government winners this year demonstrated that focusing on the government experience provides a foundation that played a vital role in responding and adapting to the uncertainties and disruptions of 2020,” said Dustin Haisler, Chief Innovation Officer for the Center for Digital Government. “This year’s winners employed innovative methods and technologies to transform their government experiences.”

Winners were honored during a virtual awards event in late September. For more information, visit
