Eagle County Government Services Restricting in person interactions

In an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community, Eagle County government will be providing services via phone and/or online services and restricting in person interactions until April 8, 2020, when these precautions will be reevaluated. All essential county services are still being provided and contact information and on-line services can be accessed at www.eaglecounty.us.  

Operational changes include the following and will be updated as new information becomes available.  

Board of County Commissioners and Administration

The Board of County Commissioners will hold meetings March 16 and 17 as scheduled. These meetings will be televised and recorded and can be viewed on ecgtv.com. For public comment, please email Rhea.silverkorn@eaglecounty.us

Airport

No changes to county operational service levels.  

Animal Services

The Animal Shelter will be closed to the public. Animal Control operations will not change. If you wish to adopt an animal listed on the Eagle County Animal Shelter website, please contact the shelter to set up an appointment.

Building
  • Permit Submission and Pick-up: May be done by placing submission in a designated box outside the County Building. Staff will in-take submissions as time allows and pick up permit submissions between 8 a.m. -12 p.m. 

  • Building Inspections: Call 1-866-701-3307 for the inspection line, please be sure to know your IVR pin number. Inspections and sub-permit online submittal use - Community Development Self Service Portal

Clerk and Recorder

Motor Vehicle

Motor vehicle employees will be working from the Eagle and El Jebel offices to process online transactions, answer phone calls, and respond to emails. To the degree possible, transactions will also be processed over the phone. Mail will also be processed. 

Online services are available at mydmv.colorado.gov. Services available include, registration renewal, first-time registration, duplicate title request, registration fee estimator, duplicate registration request, personalized plate request, and driver license or ID card renewal. Payment can be made by e-check or credit card.

Customers can also mail in license plate renewals. In addition, we will open our 24-hour ballot drop box in Eagle, El Jebel, and Edwards. For more complicated transactions, email motorvehicle@eaglecounty.us or call 970-328-8729.  

Elections

Voter registration information and changes can be made at GoVoteColorado.gov. Our elections team will be working remotely and can be contacted at elections@eaglecounty.us or voicemails left at 970-328-8715.  

Recording
Recording services will continue and are best achieved by eRecording, however,  documents can also continue to be mailed to Eagle County Clerk and Recorder, P.O. Box 537, Eagle, CO 81631 or they can be dropped in the Eagle, Avon, Edwards, or El Jebel 24-hour ballot drop box.  Please be aware there may be a delay in recording the documents arriving by mail or drop box due to time constraints.  We ask that you email recording@eaglecounty.us if you are concerned about the timing of recording, otherwise, you may check online for confirmation as well as information will be available as they are recorded.

You can call 970-328-8783 and we will be happy to provide additional information on how recording services may be accessed.

Marriage Licenses
Temporary Marriage License Process - Effective March 31, 2020

Per Governor Polis’s Executive Order D 2020 014, Eagle County will be accepting Marriage License applications via mail and 24-Hour drop boxes throughout the county while this Executive Order is in effect.

Liquor Licenses

Operations will be conducted remotely by Kathy Scriver. All questions should be directed to kathy.scriver@eaglecounty.us or by calling 970-328-8718.

CSU Extension
All CSU Extension and 4H programming is suspended until April 10th when it will be reevaluated by CSU Leadership. Please contact extension@eaglecounty.us or call 970-328-8630 with questions.

ECO Transit

No changes to service levels. Increased cleaning practices. Please do not ride ECO Transit if you are experiencing illness.  

Engineering

Children, Family, and Adult Services

Public Health

All Clinics cancelled until April 10, at which time we will reassess.

WIC and NFP services will be delivered via phone.

Senior meals have switched to home delivery or pick up; all Senior group activities have been cancelled.

Sheriff

The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office Administrative Division will continue to work limited in-office hours beginning April 2 until further notice.
Two staff members will be in the office on Tuesday's and Thursday's from 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. each week. However, we are all working remotely and are available if you need to reach us.
In order to take every precaution necessary to limit person to person interactions and possible COVID-19 exposure, the Administrative Division will not be conducting the following services at this time: 

  • VIN Inspections
  • Civil PaperProcessing will be limited to those required by C.R.S. which include Court Orders requiring SO execution, Court Ordered Civil Stand By's, and Writs of Execution.
  • We will only process CHP renewals. New applications will not be accepted at this time.
  • Victim Services will complete all victim correspondence remotely rather than responding to the scene.

Solid Waste and Recycling

Treasurer

Tax payments, paper release of deed of trust requests, foreclosure filings or other documents may be dropped in the designated 24 hours ballot drop box in front of the County Building in Eagle or El Jebel or in front of the Edwards Field House or documents can be mailed. Tax certificates may be requested on-line at https://www.eaglecounty.us/Treasurer/.
