Why Immunize?
Immunization Schedules
Reach Out & Read
Eagle County Public Health provides books to all children aged six months through five years at immunization visits as part of a nationwide literacy project, Reach Out and Read.

Adult Immunizations
Vaccinations are not just for children. There are vaccines and boosters needed at different ages and for different circumstances to keep adults and their families healthy. Some adults may be at higher risk for certain diseases due to age, chronic illness or occupation. Adult immunizations are offered by appointment. Cost varies by vaccine with low cost vaccinations available for adults without insurance.

Shingles Vaccine
Eagle County Public Health is not currently offering the shingles vaccine. We do not know at this time when we will be offering this vaccine. Please contact your primary care provider or pharmacist for this vaccine. We also encourage those with insurance to please contact your insurance carrier to verify if they cover the shingles vaccine as well as which vaccine is offered (Zostavax or Shingrix).

Please note the following vaccine shortages and production delays:
Production of Yellow Fever vaccine has ceased until mid-2018. The FDA has licensed another vaccine that has been used in other countries for decades, and distribution has been limited to 250 clinics nation-wide. The following clinics are providing Yellow Fever Vaccine in Colorado:

Passport Health of Colorado
405 Urban St, Suite 320
Lakewood, CO 80228
Phone: 303-442-8728

Global Travel Health
4545 E 9th Ave, Suite 120
Denver, CO 80220
Phone: 303-468-6986

These clinics can also provide all other vaccines and prescriptions required for travel, so we advise that you see them for everything to avoid additional fees. As these are the only clinics providing Yellow Fever Vaccine in the entire state, we also advise that you make your appointments as far in advance of your travel as possible. Please note: Yellow Fever Vaccine is not valid or effective until 10 days after it is given, so you must receive it a minimum of 2 weeks before you travel to areas where it is required or you will not be allowed entry.

If you have questions about whether or not Yellow Fever vaccine is required per your itinerary please call our Travel nurse: 970-328-9816.
