Down Payment Assistance
For entry level homebuyers, one of the greatest barriers to purchasing a home is the lack of sufficient funds for a down payment. Eagle County established a Down Payment Assistance (DPA) Program in 1998 to offer a solution to this problem. Since then, down payment assistance in Eagle County has grown from one to four funds, all designated to provide assistance to persons who live and work in Eagle County. The borrowed funds can be used for down payment, closing costs and prepaid expenses related to a home purchase in Eagle County.

Individual Counseling Our one-on-one counseling supplements other kinds of homebuyer education by focusing on the challenges and issues that are specific to you. The sessions generally include information on budgeting, developing a savings plan and credit issues. Home Buyers Assistance Committee
Eagle County Home Buyers Assistance Committee (HBAC) works to make home ownership a reality for local residents. The HBAC is a dedicated and involved group of volunteers with representatives from lenders, Realtors, developers, title companies and other concerned citizens in the County. Recommendations regarding mortgage assistance programs are made to the Eagle County Board of Commissioners by the Home Buyers Assistance Committee (HBAC).
