Open Class Exhibits

The 78th Annual Eagle County Fair and Rodeo Open Class Exhibits bring a unique opportunity for Eagle County residents to engage in friendly competition. Open Class Fair participants are able to compete in many categories from jam making, quilting, baking, garden produce, arts, crafts, photography, sewing and so much more.  View the 2017 Contests and Open Class Handbook for the full schedule and details regarding Open Class divisions and regulations.

All contests and competitions will take place at the Eagle River Center.

Beginning on Monday, July 17 from noon to 6:30 p.m., all non-perishable exhibits will be accepted. To participate, complete the entry form and bring it along with your item on the designated drop-off day. If you're unsure of what class or division, staff will be available to help complete entry forms on drop-off days.

On Tuesday, July 18, between 7 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., fresh baked goods will be accepted, along with flowers and produce.

Judging begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Ribbons are awarded to all participants.

Open Class is open to all residents of all ages of Eagle County, Colorado. Participants are judged against their own age group. There are different age categories for youth, 2-7 years old (are not judged, receive a participation ribbon), 8-10 years, 11-13 years, and 14-17 years.
Adults are judged separately, as well as professionals. Eagle County is filled with many talented artisans. Maybe one of them is you! Please use this opportunity to share something you have enjoyed creating.

Open Class exhibits are free and will be open to the public between July 19 through July 22, 2017 from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Exhibits need to be retrieved on Sunday, July 23 from 8 a.m. to noon.
