Location
If your system was permitted and installed in the last twenty years, chances are good that Environmental Health has a permit record for your property. This record generally contains the design of the system and the location of its components. For systems installed in the 1970s and early 1980s permit records are less reliable, but often still helpful. To request information regarding the location of your system, email us at environment@eaglecounty.us with the property owner name, and the physical address of the parcel.
Care and Maintenance
A proper installation of an adequately sized system is the best insurance against failure. In addition, for an onsite wastewater system to provide years of worry free service, proper maintenance of all system components is essential. General information regarding system components and maintenance can be found in A Homeowner's Guide to Septic Systems.
