Licensing of septic contractors and cleaners must be done annually before the pumping, installation, renovation or repair of any septic system. Individuals licensed by Eagle County Environmental Health in the previous year need only contact our office and pay the $25 renewal fee and complete the installer/cleaner application. At that time you will receive your new licensed installer/cleaner card and your name will be placed on the Eagle County list of licensed installers and cleaners. This list is made available to applicants who are planning to build in areas only serviced by onsite wastewater treatment systems. Persons who were not licensed in the previous year will need to complete a written, open book test on either septic system installation or septic system cleaning, depending on their vocation. These tests are based on the State of Colorado's Guidelines on Individual Sewage Disposal Systems, revised 2000. Installers and cleaners licensed in Pitkin County may become licensed in Eagle County by filling out the renewal application and forwarding $25 along with proof of your Pitkin County license.
