Eagle County, in partnership with Twenty First Century Communications, Inc., has instituted a notification system that will enable Eagle County to send voice telephone notifications to residents and businesses who use VOIP and or cellular phones for their business or residence. These messages could include anything from emergency evacuations to public notifications. This system will be used by emergency response personnel to notify homes and businesses at risk with information and direction based on the situation.

The system works in conjunction with the region's 911 database, provided by the local telephone company, and thus is able to contact landline telephones whether listed or unlisted. Because the system uses the 911 database, only landline numbers are automatically housed in the system. If you have a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) or cellular telephone and would like to be notified over that device, you must register those telephone numbers for use by the system.
