Oct. 30, 2017 – Eagle County is rolling out a new logo. The design incorporates the circular feel and the blues and greens of the existing logo, while modernizing the lines and the font. The logo was updated in-house by the county’s Communications Department.

“The new logo is intended to reflect our past, present and future,” said Kris Widlak, communications director for the county. “The green element evokes our ranching heritage, while the snowcapped mountain symbolizes our environment and economy. The blue portion represents our rivers and blue skies, along with the forward-looking eagle,” she said.

In addition, the new logo is designed to work across a variety of platforms, from printed materials to uniform pieces to digital communications.

Eagle County’s current logo is four-color and highly detailed, making it difficult and relatively expensive to reproduce. It was originally designed prior to 1980 and was refreshed in 2002. A rebranding effort in 2008 and 2009 resulted in no change to the logo.

Work is now underway to develop brand standards and an environmentally and fiscally responsible roll-out, whereby the new logo will be utilized as assets are replaced. A redesign of the county website, which was last updated in 2010, is also planned within the next year.
