Official election results

Official results from the Nov. 6 General Election are now available.

Eagle County Clerk Teak Simonton says her office received 262 provisional ballots, of which 39 were rejected due to incomplete information, registrations in other counties, or voters not being registered anywhere. The rest, or 223, were accepted from people who requested but did not vote their mail ballots; voters who moved within the county or moved here from another county; people who registered legitimately before the deadline but their registrations did not reach the Clerk’s Office; and approximately 40 from voters who voted in precincts other than their own. In the last instance, only federal and state races are counted.

“In addition to the provisional ballots, there were 77 late but eligible ballots from overseas and military voters; people whose signature didn't match our records but proved their identity via identification; people whose ballots were unsigned who came in to sign them and a few ballots that were initially sent to the wrong county,” said Simonton. “All of those late ballots are allowed per Colorado law,” she said.

Certified election results must be reported to the state no later than 5 p.m. Nov. 23. For more information, contact Simonton at 970-328-8728.
