Election reminders from the Eagle County Clerk

Oct. 23, 2017 – Ballots were mailed to all active registered voters in Eagle County on Oct. 16 and should now have been received.

Ballots must be returned by Nov. 7. Voters are reminded to affix 49 cents postage to their ballots if they choose to return them by mail. If a ballot indicates the voter is required to include a copy of his or her identification, additional postage may be needed. 

The Eagle County Clerk & Recorder’s Office is reminding voters of upcoming election dates:

  • Oct. 30 – Deadline for requesting a ballot to be mailed; anyone registering after Oct. 30 must pick up a ballot in person from one of the three Clerk & Recorder Voter Service and Polling Centers.
  • Oct. 30 to Nov. 6 – Voter Service and Polling Centers open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at all three Clerk & Recorder’s Office locations.
  • Nov. 4 – Voter Service and Polling Centers open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Avon, Eagle and El Jebel Clerk & Recorder Offices.
  • The Voter Service and Polling Center located in Vail at the Grand View Room on top of the Lionshead parking structure will be open on Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Nov. 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Nov. 7 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Nov. 7 – Election Day. All ballots must be received by the Clerk & Recorder; postmarks do not count. Voter Service and Polling Centers open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all three Clerk & Recorder’s office locations and the Grand View Room in Vail. Clerk & Recorder Offices will be closed for non-election services on Election Day.

Eligible voters who have resided in the state for at least 22 days, or since Oct. 16, can register to vote up to and including on Election Day.

Clerk & Recorder’s offices are located in Avon at 100 W. Beaver Creek Blvd., in Eagle at 500 Broadway, and in El Jebel at 0020 Eagle County Dr. The Grand View Room at the Lionshead parking structure is located at 395 S. Frontage Rd W. in Vail. Available services at the Voter Service and Polling Centers include voter registration, changes to registrations, disabled access voting, in-person voting, ballot drop boxes and replacement ballots.


There are also 24-hour ballot drop boxes with lighting and video surveillance outside of Clerk & Recorder Offices in Eagle, Avon, and El Jebel.

The Town of Vail and Vail Recreation District elections are conducted separately from the Eagle County Coordinated Election.
