Clerk & Recorder sends mail ballots for Nov. 2 election

Eagle County Clerk & Recorder Teak Simonton has announced that as of Oct. 13, ballots for the Nov. 2 general election have been sent to all individuals on record as having requested to vote by mail. Ballots will continue to be mailed daily as additional requests are received; voters have until Oct. 27 to make a written request for a mail ballot. Forms are available online and at all three Clerk & Recorder Offices including Avon at 100 West Beaver Creek Blvd., Eagle at 500 Broadway and El Jebel at 0020 Eagle County Dr. 

Ballots must be returned by mail or in person no later than 7 p.m. Nov. 2. Voters are asked to remember that ballots cannot be forwarded and ballots received after Nov. 2 cannot be counted, regardless of postmark date.

Early voting will be available in all offices from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays from Oct. 18 though Oct. 29 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 for those wishing to vote in person before Election Day. Polling places throughout the county will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 2.

A sample ballot and the Colorado Blue Book are available for review. Preliminary results will be posted to the county’s website as soon as possible on the night of Nov. 2. Voters who have not received their mail ballot, are unsure of their polling place, or have other election-related questions are encouraged to contact the Clerk & Recorder’s Office at 970-328-8715 or 970-328-8726.
