Colorado Master Gardener Training Program

The 2012 Colorado Master Gardener (CMG) Training Program will be hosted by Eagle County Extension and is now open for enrollment. Classes will be held in the Garden Level Classroom at 500 Broadway in Eagle.

Please see application and training information.

Training dates: Thursdays from 9 am to 4 pm, January 26 through March 29, 2012. Application deadline December 9, 2011.

Tuition and Program Fees
There are two program options available. The Colorado Master Gardener (CMG) volunteer option has a return service commitment of 50 volunteer hours by October, 2012. The non-volunteer Colorado Gardener Certificate (CGC) option is used widely by Green Industry and golf professionals. The certificate may be used for marketing purposes. Participants new to the area or new to gardening in Colorado but do not wish to volunteer will find the certificate option a good fit.

Colorado Master Gardener Program (volunteer service): You will be billed $240 if selected as a CMG volunteer.
Colorado Gardener Certificate (non-volunteer): $575 with application.

For additional information contact: Eagle County Extension at coopext_eagle_mg@mail.colostate.edu or call 970-328-8630.

The CMG/CGC Training Program in Eagle and surrounding counties is now offered through distance education - a delivery method which uses live feed interactive video technology (Adobe Acrobat Connect). 2008 was the first CMG Training Program offered by this method in Eagle County. The switch from on-site instructors to the distance education model grew out of CSU Extension's commitment to exploring new efficient ways of delivering programming to distant locations, to provide those locations with greater access to specialists and other experts, and to make efficient use of staff resources and reduce travel costs.
