4-H Youth Club Announcements

Gypsum 4-H Barn Ribbon Cutting 
The Gypsum 4-H Barn is in full operation! There are currently goats and pigs at the barn with more animals soon to arrive. An official “ribbon cutting” is planned for 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 11 at the Gypsum Barn, located at 2324 Cooley Mesa Road. Festivities will include the actual ribbon cutting as well as a BBQ. If planning to attend, please RSVP to no later than May 9. This is an exciting occasion and we hope you will join in the celebration!

2018 County Fair 4-H Rule Book
The  2018 County Fair 4-H Rule Book contains comprehensive information pertaining to 4-H rules for County Fair.

Swine, Sheep and Goat Tagging and Weigh-In
All market swine, lambs and goats that will be shown at the 2018 County Fair must be tagged at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12 at the 4-H Community Barn in Eagle (Red Barn at the Fairgrounds).  

Rabbit Tattooing and Poultry Banding 
All market and breeding rabbits and market poultry must come to rabbit tattooing and poultry tagging on Tuesday, June 26.  Even if your rabbit is already tattooed, you must bring the rabbit to have the tattooed verified by species superintendents.

4-H Calendar
Be sure and look at the 4-H calendar for all club meetings that have been set as well as all county events, including County Fair shows.

New 4-H Gardening Club!
If you are interested in growing your own food, digging in the dirt, and learning about plants; consider joining the Eagle County 4-H Gardening Club!  Contact Jenny for more information.   

Gypsum Creek 4-H Club 
Gypsum Creek 4-H Club will start having regular meetings in September.  This club, led by Emily Darrough, is open to all livestock kids, especially those interested in participating in livestock judging.  If interested in this club, please give Emily a call at (970) 445-7040.

4-H Barn in Eagle 
If you would like to keep swine, sheep, poultry or goats at the Eagle or Gypsum 4-H Barn, give us a call to reserve your pen.  Or, if you know of a friend that would like to raise livestock for 4-H but doesn't have a place to keep their animal, share with them this unique and wonderful opportunity to raise animals at the 4-H community barn!

4-H Awards Banquet
A great time was had by all at the annual 4-H Awards Banquet held October 8, 2017.  Special thanks to the 4-H County Council for emceeing the event and to everyone who participated both by attending and bringing food to share.  Congratulations to all members and leaders for another successful completion year and to all special award recipients.
