Overview

The Animal Shelter cares for approximately 1100 animals each year. The shelter was opened in April of 1998 and is very proud to be classified as a No-Kill-For-Space Animal Shelter. This is the result of the hard work and dedication of many people including the Animal Services staff, its volunteers and community outreach programs. The owner responsibility and love of animals shown by the citizens of Eagle County also contributes greatly to the success of the shelter.

The shelter is currently looking for volunteers to help socialize the animals currently available for adoption. Please call 328-DOGS to learn how you can help. Our new volunteer program allows our volunteers to begin interaction with the animals almost immediately. Make a difference in the life of a cat or dog today.

You can now submit a Lost or Found Pet Notice or view a list of found animals on our Lost and Found Pets page.

Items needed to care for our animals are always in short supply at the shelter. You may donate pet care supplies at any time during business hours.
